Develop standards and guidelines:
With your nursing degree, you will acquire targeted know-how to help develop quality management concepts, guidelines and standards in nursing facilities.
Together we are shaping the future of nursing!
The increasingly complex nursing processes require people (nurses) with a good education in theory and practice, who can also question processes and develop and improve them with scientific evidence. The qualitative and technical requirements for the nursing profession are constantly increasing due to the increase in the complexity of care. Against this background, the Dresden University of Applied Sciences offers the new Bachelor's degree programme "Nursing (B.Sc.)". With this degree programme, the FHD is making its contribution to academisation in the health professions.
The aim of the study program "Nursing (B.Sc.)" is to impart professional qualifying knowledge and skills as well as specialized and methodological knowledge in order to be able to provide independent, comprehensive and process-oriented nursing care for people of all ages in acute and permanent inpatient as well as outpatient nursing situations. In addition to the professional competencies, you will also acquire the necessary personal, social, intercultural, communicative and the underlying learning competencies including the ability to transfer knowledge and self-reflection.
A special feature of the study program is the legally detailed and very extensive practical training components. Six practical modules are integrated into the program. You will complete these practical phases in inpatient and outpatient facilities for long-term and short-term care, in children's facilities and in emergency and intensive care medicine. In order to prepare you in the best possible way for the practical assignments, the practical transfer takes place in the "Skills Lab" in addition to the theoretical basics. This offers you a learning environment in which practical skills and competencies of nursing processes and situations can be practiced and learned.
In the course of your studies, you will thus acquire specialist and methodological knowledge in the fields of nursing science and research, acute, long-term and palliative and evidence-based nursing, hygiene, physiology, pharmacology, neurology, oncology, emergency and intensive care medicine, pediatrics and gerontology, as well as other relevant content and framework conditions of the care system.
